Head Coach

The Sauk Prairie Pool Shark (SPPS) summer swim team, is actively seeking a full-time experienced Head Coach for age group swimmers. SPPS is a not-for-profit swim organization located in central Wisconsin. SPPS has been a part of the Sauk Prairie  Community for over 30 years and is overseen by a parent volunteer board of directors. We currently have approximately 100 swimmers in our club.  Minimum requirements for candidates include:  Experience with Tri-County Swim League, experience as a competitive swimmer and/or Coach; CPR, WSI preferred, criminal background check.  Head Coach Responsibilities: 1. Manage daily swim team operations and administration.  2. Develop age-appropriate swim programs for all swimmers. Inspire and challenge each swimmer to achieve their goals and develop positive self-esteem.  3. Emphasize to all swimmers the importance of proper technique, teamwork, sportsmanship, learning and fun.  4. Oversee, assist and develop coaches. Assign duties and supervise on deck coaching for all age group levels.  5. Develop and implement practice schedules tailored to the season and meet schedule.  6. Develop meet schedules, meet entries, travel plans and coaching assignments.  7. Communicate with families and the SPPS Board including parent meetings, newsletters, website updates, coach’s report and board meetings.  8. Recruit and retain swimmers, including marketing and promotion to the community.  Compensation: Compensation will commensurate with experience. 8 & U Assistant Coach

The Sauk Prairie Pool Sharks (SPPS) are are seeking an energetic, knowledgeable, dependable and responsible Assistant Age Group Coach who wants to be part of a coaching staff aimed at excellence.  This coach will be responsible for daily coaching for our 8&U group as well as parent communication, meet entries, practice planning and organization, and coaching at meets.  Minimum CPR, WSI preferred.  Please apply by January 31, 2011.  Start date is May 15, 2011.  Please direct application, resume and references to Melani Guentherman at melanig@gcg-solutions.com or to PO Box 491, Sauk City WI 53583 by January 31, 2011.  

 

9-10 Assistant Coach

Volunteer Coaches

If you are interested in helping out this summer as a volunteer coach, please send me an email (melanig@gcg-solutions.com) by March 31, 2011 indicating which age group(s) you would like to help with and what day(s) and times you may be interested in helping.  Being a volunteer coach is a great way to give back to the swim team, gain experience with coaching young swimmers, and support the youth in the community.
