POOL SHARKS NEEDS YOUR HELP...


     * If you are interested in joining the Pool Sharks board,
      please contact any board member listed in the contact page.


PARENTS PLEASE NOTE: 

    * IT TAKES 250 MAN HOURS TO RUN A MEET...In order to run a successful home
      meet,  all participating swimmer families need to volunteer an average of 12
      hours throughout the swim season.  Please remember this is a volunteer
      organization and without your cooperation other families will ultimately have
      to cover for your non-participation. Sign-up sheets are posted at the out-door
      pool.  Training will be provided!


    * Swimmers and parents are asked to assist in cleaning up their areas prior to
      departure from home and away meets. 


    * Parents please remember that you are responsible for your children's
      behavior at all meets (CODE OF CONDUCT).  Please periodically monitor and
      find out what your child/children are doing when they are not swimming -


Because Pool Sharks is a volunteer organization, we ask that all families volunteer at home meets.   

Volunteer Jobs include, but are not limited to:

  • Setup- usually done at 5:30 am the day of the meet- getting tables and lanes ready for the meet.

  • Concessions- concession shifts run either 6:30 am till 9, and 9 am till noon. All home dual meets
    have a concession stand.  

  • Announcing-

  • Timers- stand at the lanes and time- usually for the entire meet.

  • Officials-class is required to learn this role.

  • Deck Runners- pick up cards from timers, pass out heat ribbons.

  • Clerk of Course (Staging)-yell very loudly to get kids in lanes and organized before their race.

  • Hy-Tek- entering data into the computer of swimmers times.

  • Tear Down/Clean Up- at the end of the meet. Usually most of the families pitch in and help. Meets
    are usually over by 12:00 Noon.

  • Meet Set Up (fill out cards, put on heat board, etc)- done the night before.

  • Ribbon Distribution- Organizing ribbons for our time and the opposing team, after scores are
    entered.

  • ScoreKeeper-
